about

Ferric refers to the numerous metal objects and installations that could be found around the village where I live at that time. Working in the field, recordings were made using various techniques and methods for instigating vibrations and resonances in these 'found' installations. An occasional soundscape recording can be heard as well as a windharp I built. Many of the structures previously existed and some were built in a loose way to be affected by natural forces (wind and rain). Minimal processing was done to the recordings and they were assembled in a way that mimicked the feeling of the original sessions on location.

'ferric' was originally released in 2008 as a 3" mini CDr by the taâlem label in France. This piece was assembled from recordings made in the spring of 2005 in Mooste Estonia.
